Places visited

Grasmere, Lake District, Cumbria, England

The Lake District has inspired just about any poet or artist who has ever visited it, including views, trails, pubs, and just about everything else a soul could desire: a land so peaceful that one can wander about all day in natural-color clothing in valleys and over fells and not be shot.

Iceland

To understand Iceland (or Icelanders), I have three observations:

  1. Everyone works (the more jobs the better).
  2. They all drink lots of coffee.
  3. They believe that Iceland is actually in the Caribbean.

Even so, Iceland is home to a remarkable number of traditions, including literary ones--including having one of the most popular lines in literature.

An Icelandic horse ride is truly memorable, but if you prefer walking, there's a stroll through Akureyri.
