Crocus, Spring 2003

Last year a neighbor planted crocus bulbs, and this year, March 2003, I was able to enjoy photographing the crocuses. Although the pussy willow catkins are somewhat ahead of the crocuses in development, the crocuses are the first flower to enliven spring.

Let's have a round of applause for all the good neighbors who plant bulbs!

Photo note: Both photos were taken in the last week of March 2003 with a Pentax LX and the SMC 85mm soft-focus lens. This lens has a fine reputation for portraits, but I find it does an excellent job with flowers as well.
