State College Fireworks 2012 | July 5, 2012 |
|
Following are four (somewhat) large firework photos from the Fourth of July display at State College, Pennsylvania.
It took a little effort, inasmuch as I either took the wrong connection between my camera and tripod or couldn't get it to fit. Consequently, I alternated between bracing the camera against the tripod or precariously balancing the camera on the tripod. In spite of all that, many photos came out reasonable. |
Another example of a longish exposure and a "braced" camera. |
By this time I had worked out a system, and I didn't have to hold the camera. I did remember to bring a remote cable release, and everything was okay as long as I didn't "touch" anything. |
Toward the end of the display, for the finale, I made several setting changes, but I lost focus. (The consequences of not paying sufficient attention.) Even so, it is an interesting view, in an impressionistic sort of way. |
Fireworks are fun to photograph (and beautiful to see) - especially when having a functioning camera-tripod arrangement.
Photo note: I used a Pentax K20D, with the SMC-DA 55-300mm lens, on July 4, 2012. |
