Bald Eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus | December 4, 2010 |
Every year, during fall and spring migration, I hope to take better eagle photos, and, generally, the fall works out better for me. This fall I've taken my best bald eagle sequence yet, and here are three photos from it.
Any hawk or eagle can appear at a varying distance. This one came close. |
The bald eagle is around a Basic 5, inasmuch as it is just short of being a full-fledged adult. Probably in the spring.
The closest point of approach. |
I whirled around to take this photo when the bald eagle had begun to leave but was still overhead. |
Overhead photos are tough, but I had good luck that day.
Photo note: I used a Pentax K20D, with the Sigma 150-500mm lens, on November 26, 2010, at Jo Hayes Vista. I reduced the images to two-thirds actual size. |
