Day of Caring at CWC

On October 3, 2013, Centre Wildlife Care (CWC) benefited through the United Way's Day of Caring. Five women from Centre LifeLink EMS and Randy Romesberg (Robyn's husband) from Restek worked at CWC, restoring the home of two unreleaseable raptors.

In the first photo, Robyn is giving instructions about what had to be done for the home of Isis the peregrine falcon and Andromeda the red-tailed hawk.

Vicki and Ashley are applying a stain, which was provided by the Home Depot as part of the Day of Caring. (Robyn had previously power-washed the walls.)

Eliza did all the the roof staining.

In addition to working on Isis's and Andromeda's home, Susan and Lauren cleaned crates and carriers.

Randy handled the heavy work.

After a lunch break, Robyn gave all the helpers a tour of Centre Wildlife Care, including the mammal area, for which the opossums gave Robyn's foot a happy greeting (in anticipation of food, which was duly given).

All the while, Isis was waiting - none too patiently - for her home to be made ready.

After the work was finished, everyone posed while wearing Day of Caring T-shirts.

An enormous thank you to one and all!

Note 1: I have more Day of Caring photos at the Centre Wildlife Care Facebook pages (for which you needn't be a member of FB to see): working and touring.

Note 2: An earlier CWC event: The release of Xena, a first-year bald eagle, back into the wild.
