More Tundra Swans
at Middle Creek, Pennsylvania, 2013
June 2, 2013

This page continues the March 3, 2013, visit by Sue and me to the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (in Pennsylvania). While the snow geese were a no show, a thousand tundra swans were very active over the lake. My earlier page showed the tundras singlely or in small flocks. This page covers larger numbers of the swans in flight.

The opening photo is an angled view of a V formation of six tundra swans.

Here we have an entirely different perspective: five incoming swans.

Finally, shown is a large flock of tundras in flight, along with a bald eagle pair seen in the far background.

The tundra migration route covers thousands of miles as they fly to the Canada northwest arctic.

Photo note: I used a Pentax K20D, with the Sigma 150-500mm lens, for these photos, taken on 3 March 2013.
