BumblebeesJuly 5, 2015

Bumblebees are such amazing insects, and so I thought to present three large macros of my recent photos.

The first one is on thistle. At the start of the warm weather, I didn't see too many bees, but once the thistle came into bloom, the bees came out.

Of course, bumblebees enjoy other flowers too.

Finally, for today, here is an example of bumblebee buzzing.

All in all, bumblebees are a treat to watch and photograph.

Photo note: The photos were taken with the Pentax K20D and the Pentax SMC-A* 200mm macro lens during May and June in the Toftrees game land, north of Cooper's Pond, State College, Pennsylvania.
